CASUAL DRESS.

Old Navy dress; Call it Spring scarf; Payless boots

I wore this to work the other day, and my boss goes "Oh... Why are you wearing a dress?".
I guess I don't wear dresses often. Somehow this outfit was a shock to him.

Should I wear dresses more often?

I just really like pants...

THAT'S A WRAP.

Costco wrap sweater; American Eagle jeans and plaid top; Payless boots

I bet this post title has been done about a million times before, and probably even a couple times by me. But how else am I supposed to draw you to my awesome super comfortable wrap sweater? I basically live in this thing. It's fantastic.

I bet you're all tired of these boots. They're my fall go-to's. Since it's been getting cooler outside, I need all the leg coverage I can get. Unfortunately, after three years under my ownership, they're falling apart. There's a hole in them, and the material is starting to peel (yay for not-real-leather shoes!!!). Time to replace them? Or wait for clearance prices in a couple months? Guess which one I pick...

FRIDAY SHMIDAY.

H&M top; American Apparel leggings; Payless boots; Castellammare Jewellery necklace

Ya that's right. I'm mad at Friday.
On Wednesday it felt like Friday. It wasn't, so I was upset.
On Thursday it felt like Friday. It wasn't, so I was even more upset.
And now that Friday has come around, I'm just annoyed with it.
Seriously. Why couldn't it be there when I needed it on Wednesday?
Ugh. So by-the-book, Friday is.

MOTIVATION.

Tommy Hilfiger top (via Costco); Payless shoes; Call it spring scarf

I've been slacking on the blogging front. Slacking on reading blogs, commenting on blogs, and even updating my own.

It's been hard to motivate myself recently. Taking outfit photos is harder these days. When I get home from work, I force myself to the gym. If it isn't a gym night, I make a good dinner. By the time that's done, I just want to relax.

Reading blogs should be relaxing, but recently it hasn't been. It's felt like this chore - clean up the blog feed, read half the posts, comment quick to move to the next one.

It's been a few months since this feeling has crept up. I don't know, I guess I feel like I have less time to do things these days. I have been keeping pretty busy, so maybe that's part of it. I don't know.

If I'm quiet around here, this is why. I just have to figure out what my next step is, and it's probably taking a small step back for now. I'm not gone for good, I'll just be a little quieter for a bit. That's all.

No boots.

Talula leggings (Aritzia); H&M tank; American Eagle scarf; Payless shoes;
Castellammare earrings & bangles

Although it's been unseasonably warm, I'm still trying to take advantage of the fact it's fall. See: scarf and sweater. But not boots. It's not cold enough for boots yet.

Don't get me wrong, I love boots. I just know the next 5 months will be boots-only and soon I'm going to be sofreakingtired of boots. I dunno about you, but I don't particularly want to extend their stay.

So for now, my feet get to breath in flats and my Toms. Until it gets too cold. Then I'll have to surrender to boots. I guess...

Scarves and lightning bolts.

Aerie top; American Eagle scarf; Talula leggings (via Aritzia); Payless shoe; Castellammare earrings

Ohhh gooddddd I love scarves.
And the lightning bolts in my ears.
Reminding me of Harry Potter.
Speaking of Harry Potter, I may have just decided what I'm doing this weekend.
HP Marathon... Do I have enough stamina?

Lilac blazer.

Talula blazer; H&M tank; American Eagle denim; Payless shoes; Castellammare designs necklace

Thank you, sun-glare, for taking the purple out of my blazer. Just imagine the purple blazer. It was one of my recent Aritzia purchases from that time I went and blew my budget x2.

Typical Kelly. Right thurrr.

Coral + stripes + white pants + leopard print.

Forever 21 tank; American Eagle jeans; Payless shoes; GAP bag

Special thanks to this guy for taking his sweet time getting on his bike.
Thanks for not staring at me. I can tell because you were in every single picture looking away.
On purpose? Probably.

Does it make me a creeper if I just took 30 photos of this dude by accident?

Happy Friday!!

Clearance finds.

Old Navy maxi dress; Forever 21 belt; Payless flats; Fossil watch

No idea why that first photo, and the 70 other photos turned out blurry. Whatever, just go with it.

I bought this maxi the other day after a long hunt for a plain black one. Found it at Old Navy. Originally $32, on sale for $17 and then an additional 20% off. Sweet, I like deals. I felt a little like this:

Yup, that about sums it up.

p.s. sorry I haven't been able to visit everyone's blogs over the past few days. Things have been hectic and it doesn't look like it's slowing down yet... I haven't decided that I hate you or something... :)

Nautical pencil skirts.

Forever 21 skirt; Joe fresh striped top; Forever 21 belt; Payless flats

I instagrammed this outfit last week. Then it snowed on Friday and I realized I'd be taking photos of this re-created outfit in the snow. At least my flats held it together.

I love the nautical vibes of the stripes and the red belt. And this jersey pencil skirt from Forever 21 is one of my favourite buys probably ever. For $12 it's lasted a heck of a long time.

Fur, knits and snow.

After every snowfall, I pray that it's the end of winter.
But then I realize how pretty snow is in my photos.
And for a second, I'm not sure I want it gone yet.

But then I remember what it feels like to be on a beach.
And I pray for the snow to end again.

High-low cut.

A high-low cut. Best found on a knit.
Thank you, Winners, for the awesome find.
It'll make a great transition piece :)

Poncho.

Poncho: Ardene's
Pants: American Eagle
Boots: Payless
Belt: Forever 21

I look like I'm wearing a blanket. It's really warm.
Also I feel like a superhero in a cape.
That's gotta count for something.

Cozy wrap sweater.

Sweater: Zellers
Tee & belt: Forever 21
Jeggings: Dynamite
Socks: H&M
Boots: Payless

When the world around me starts to look dead, I can't think of anything better than a cozy wrap sweater to snuggle into.

Winter is coming.
Update: Winter has come. It's been snowing. Gross.

The downside of fall.

Old Navy vest; Dynamite top and pants; Forever 21 belt; Payless boots

The beginning of fall is all wonderful. Leaves change colours and litter the ground, the cooling temps allow us to finally break out our pants without sweating, and the golden sun casts its glow on everything.

Then November hits, and with it comes all the downsides of fall: the frost on your windshield in the mornings, getting into work while it's still dark out, freezing without a jacket, and constant overcast and/or rain.

While I love fall, this is about when I start wishing for summer to come back. Winter, I don't mind if we skip you this year. Let's just go straight to summer puh-leaaaaase. I miss my sunshine and warmth. I admit I am a sad excuse for a Canadian when it comes to weather. I should have been born in the tropics.

Happy Monday!

Let the celebration begin!

Tommy Hilfiger top; American Eagle jeans; Payless boots

It's finally November. You know what that means? It's my birthday month. And because I didn't get to celebrate my birthday last year (final semester of school, had a 4-day long simulation project over my birthday weekend), I'm making sure I enjoy turning another year older this year.

My birthday isn't actually until next Saturday, but a friend of mine will be away on vaca during the festivities so we're meeting at a cake shop in Ottawa for dinner tonight. Yup, cake for dinner. And you know what? I'm not going to feel one bit guilty about it because it's birthday cake. That's right. I'll be justifying lots of things because of my birthday.. Like my birthday dress I bought to celebrate in. And the birthday earrings that went with it. And ... maybe I should quit while I'm ahead...

Have a wonderful weekend lovelies! TGIF!

This is a fall outfit.

H&M sweater; Walmart tights; Forever 21 belt and necklace; Payless boots

This is a fall outfit. Just in case you didn't know already.
Sweater dresses are my favourite. I need more.
Please ignore the wrinkles, I didn't realize how noticeable the were... Stayin' classy!
My belt and boots match - this was not planned.
My necklace kept hitting by belt when I walked. It was distracting.
I don't know why, but I don't feel like writing full paragraphs today. Apparently yesterday too.
All the Sandy coverage last night was a little scary. Hope everyone stayed safe last night!

Equestrian.

Joe Fresh chambray top; American Eagle pants; Payless boots

Dunno 'bout you, but I feel like I'm about to jump on a horse in this outfit. The whole "riding" vibe with my fave boots, tanned pants and chambray top is getting to me.

True story, I've never been on a horse. Actually, that's not a true story. One time when I was three or four I rode a pony. I have pictures to prove to myself that I did it. Since then, I haven't been on a horse or even near a horse. They're massive and scare me a little bit. I mean, I don't think they're going to try to kill me or anything, but if that thing falls over and I'm under it, I'm done.

Even still, I think horseback riding would be kind of neat. My friend and I have mentioned going for fun, but nothing has come out of it. Maybe we'll have to seriously look into it so I can have a reason to wear my "equestrian" outfit ;)

Trend challenge: Animal Print.

Smart Set top; Kenneth Cole (via Costco) cargo skinnies; Payless flats; Fossil watch

Today I'm linking up with Marion of Marionberry Style for her Trend of the Month challenge! This month is animal print, which is an awesome print on anyone.

I know everyone's seen leo print flats before, so it's really nothing new. In all honesty, I did have another outfit planned for this challenge but didn't get the chance to wear it. Sooo I had to stick with one of my outfits in the queue and this was the only one with a hint of animal print anything... Sorry for sucking, but at least I was able to participate in this challenge for the first time in a few months!

Want to be inspired by animal print? Stop by Marion's blog and check out how all of the others styled it!
