Cat prints.

H&M top and belt; Payless shoes
Castellammare necklace, earrings; Fossil watch

Got back from my Sudbury vacation last night - pictures to come shortly!

I Instagrammed this outfit a few weeks ago. I loved the mixed leopard print in the flats and the top.
Then my kitty came around and I figured I could add a "third" cat-print to the outfit.. har har har.

But no, seriously, isn't she the cutest?

Last summer outfits.

Forever 21 top; American Eagle jeans; Target sandals; Fossil watch

My coworker said it best. It's time for us to pull together as many final summer outfits as we can before it's too late. I know I'm antsy for fall, but I can't help but take this summer style out for another spin.

I was out with Marianna again last night taking more photos of her fall products. As you know, since I haven't shut up about it for like a week, I'm beyond excited for her new store launch. Anyways, this is the outfit I wore for our little photo shoot. Which was great. Until some old guy on rollerblades stalked us for five minutes. Cool dude, cool. We really aren't that exciting.

In other news, I'm off to Sudbury this weekend to spend some quality time with some friends. It'll be quiet around here without my computer, but I will definitely be back next Tuesday. Don't miss me too much! Kidding... please miss me so I feel good about myself? ... Kidding! ... or am I?
Well, now this is awkward..

BYEEEE.

A last hurrah for summer.

Target dress; Call it Spring sandals; Fossil watch

This weekend I'll be taking one of my last summer trips.
Tonight I'm heading to a cottage with my bff and her fam-jam.
It's going to be 4 days of bliss, sunshine and relaxation. Seriously, I need it.

I won't be bringing my computer, which means I'll probably suck at being on the blogsphere/ commenting on blogs/ generally being a good internet person, so no hating, kay?

But I will be back with mucho fresh content as I will likely have my camera out 99% of the time.
Have a great weekend friends and see you all on Tuesday!

White + pink + leopard

Happy "Hump Day" everyone!
If you don't like the term "hump day", I probably don't like you.
:)

Before the snow.

Sweater: Forever 21
Pants: Kenneth Cole
Boots: Call it Spring
Scarf: Old Navy
Watch: Fossil

These were taken before I took my blog break.
There was no snow. Then there was snow. Now there's no snow again.
Make up your mind, weather.

Thrifting sweaters and falling for boots.

Thrifted sweater; Dynamite pants; Call it Spring boots; Fossil watch

Oh my gosh, so many new things in one post!

First of all, this awesome and super cozy knit sweater was thrifted! I never ever go thrifting 'cause I have very bad thrift-luck, but the other day I snatched up this beauty. Thank god I did because it's quickly becoming a favourite!

Secondly, I'm wearing an all-black outfit. Whaaa? I never ever wear all black, but I'm diggin' this look right now. Maybe it's the cooler weather? Who knows. But it feels good to switch things up.

Lastly, new boots. Wooohoo! I have had a mega crush on the Western trend, but I am picky. I wanted the silhouette of the boot, but nothing that screamed Western. And because I'm a huge fan of the "moto"/"rocker"/"tough" trend (whatever you want to call it), I adore buckles. These boots merged the best of both worlds. Win-win, right?

Trend challenge: Animal Print.

Smart Set top; Kenneth Cole (via Costco) cargo skinnies; Payless flats; Fossil watch

Today I'm linking up with Marion of Marionberry Style for her Trend of the Month challenge! This month is animal print, which is an awesome print on anyone.

I know everyone's seen leo print flats before, so it's really nothing new. In all honesty, I did have another outfit planned for this challenge but didn't get the chance to wear it. Sooo I had to stick with one of my outfits in the queue and this was the only one with a hint of animal print anything... Sorry for sucking, but at least I was able to participate in this challenge for the first time in a few months!

Want to be inspired by animal print? Stop by Marion's blog and check out how all of the others styled it!

Easy, breezy.

Dynamite top & pants; H&M shoes; Fossil watch

Just a super simple fall outfit - see, leaves are falling already! During my shop-about on labour day weekend I came across this gorgeous top. Simple, but the ties at the top made it for me. And the colour - gosh, I love that colour.

Now, can I just say how much I HATE how easily black pants/denim fade? Frustrating. These pants look more "grey" than anything now. Oh well, what can ya do?

Happy Monday!

#Yolo.

Dynamite blazer; Forever 21 top, skirt, necklace; H&M shoes

Yolo. The word that can be found just about everywhere. And until a few days ago, I had no idea what it meant. I was visiting my family and asked my 15-year old cousin to explain. She said it stood for "you only live once". Phew, I'm finally in the loop again.

Moments like these are when you realize you're losing the cool factor. You're losing touch with your inner high-school teen-speak. You don't know what the cool things to say are anymore. I mean, back in my teen-speak days, "woot" was pretty much the bomb, and that got really irritating, really quickly.

What I'm trying to say is I no longer feel cool anymore because I apparently can't keep up with the "cool things to say". Just another reminder that every day I'm getting older and I should be living every day to its fullest. Why? Yolo :)

Happy Friday lovelies!

Three staple pieces.

Gap cardigan; Forever 21 top, skirt, necklace and belt; H&M shoes; Fossil watch

I wear this cardigan multiple times per week. It's just one of those items - a staple - and I don't know what I'd do without it. Why am I in love with this piece? It's lightweight, long, comfortable and goes with literally everything. Thanks, Gap, for being awesome and creating the perfect cardigan.

And then the pencil skirt. What woman goes through life without a pencil skirt? The best part about this one - it's stretchy and comfortable so I can actually lounge around in it. Yup. Perfection. And I think it was $10? Thanks, Forever 21, for also being awesome and creating the perfect everyday-pencil skirt.

Lastly, the watch. I never go anywhere without my rose gold watch these days. Yellow gold is a little too flashy against my super-ghostly-pale skin tone, and silver seemed too.. blah. Rose gold came out on top and I couldn't be happier. Also, the face is the perfect size and doesn't take over my wrist. So thanks, Fossil, for being awesome and creating the perfect watch.

What are some of your staple pieces?

Cow or Dalmatian?

Dynamite top & pants; H&M flats; Forever 21 necklace; Fossil watch

Sometimes I make funny poses and I really don't know how they happen. I'm transitioning from one pose to the next and BAM - awkward moment captured. Like that last one right there. This is real life, kids. Just keepin' it real around here. I should do an outtakes post soon.

Also, I can't decide on this print: cow or dalmatian? I mean, the whole time I was thinking cow, and then a friend points out that the spots are too small to be a cow and it's really a dalmatian print. I'm starting to think she's right. Whatever print it may be, the high-low cut sold me on this top. That and the material. It's so light-weight and a perfect transition piece as the days get a little cooler. Wait, who am I kidding? That won't happen for a at least a month at this rate.

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend :)

A top 3 list, but not about fashion.

Joe Fresh top; Winners pants; Call it Spring shoes; Forever 21 necklace and bracelets; Fossil watch

On Sunday I went to see Total Recall with my mom. We're awesome and go to movies together, it rocks. And then there she was - Kate Beckinsale. No, not at the movie theatre, but on the big screen...

See, I have a top 3 list. A list of the top three Hollywood actresses that I have girl crushes on. I like men, but you know, girls have girl crushes too. These are my three:

1. Rachel McAdams. Stunning. I just watched The Notebook over the weekend and sometimes had a hard time figuring out who to stare at: her or Ryan Gosling. Seriously.

2. Kate Beckinsale. Since her role in Pearl Harbour, I have been one of her biggest fans. She just has such perfect facial features, and her hair...my god, how is her hair always so perfect?

3. Emma Stone - the striking red-head. Though she can pull off brown quite nicely, I'm not sure how I feel about the blonde...

Now, if you asked me to list my top 3 Hollywood actors, I would have to tell you I haven't ever thought about it. Maybe I'll go think about it now and report back to you guys another time.

Happy Tuesday!

A little darker.

Dynamite top; Forever 21 skirt; ALDO shoes; Fossil watch

I wore this outfit out over the weekend but didn't have a chance to snap pictures because we were in a rush. Thanks to vacations I have the ability to catch up on some of my outfit photos that I wasn't able to snap over the last few weeks. The trouble is trying to remember what I wore...

And here's the new hair colour! It's darker than I went last time, but it fades slightly with every wash so it will get lighter as time goes on. I like it though.

Beach day today! Off I go to not get a tan and to read a good book in the beautiful sunshine!

Closest I'll come to peplum.

Forever 21 top and skirt; Spring shoes; Fossil watch

The other day I tried on THE PERFECT strapless peplum top. Lace, exposed zipper at the back, super pretty cut. The only problem? My chest wasn't big enough. That's right - not big enough to hold that thing up or even look good. I almost gave up on my peplum search right then and there.

BUT (there is always a "but"...), I found this super pretty flowy top at Forever 21. It's not the same as most structured peplum out there today, but it has a definite femininity and peplum-like style to it. I couldn't walk away from it, even if they were out of my size and I had to buy the next size up. And guess what - the girls could still pull this one off. I think I found myself a winner, and this is probably the closest to peplum I'll ever come.

Probably.

All about watermelon.

Self-made dress; Forever 21 shoes; Dynamite belt

Let's take this post to talk about watermelon.

If you know me at all, you know I have a food obsession. Yes, it's probably unhealthy. No, it'll never change. I love my food. I eat what I love. I don't care. Moving on.

Watermelon is the fruit of the summer. I could eat half a watermelon in a sitting - I have done it before. And I'm talking a serious watermelon, not one of those mini baby things. My favourite way to eat it is cut up in chunks with a fork because I hate getting my hands sticky, but there are a few other ways I must try:

1. Watermelon/Strawberry Slush. This looks amazing and extremely refreshing, especially on super hot days.

2. In a salad. I've had something similar at a restaurant and it was the perfect mix of flavours. I need to re-create this at home!

3. Who doesn't love their tortilla chips? Well here's a recipe for some watermelon salsa. Sounds seriously awesome.

So if you don't like watermelon, sorry about this whole post. You won't have learned anything very exciting. If you love watermelon like me, I hope you enjoyed some of my links and maybe we can have a cook-off and introduce new ways of eating watermelon into each others lives?

Do you have a favourite summer fruit?
