MOTIVATION.

Tommy Hilfiger top (via Costco); Payless shoes; Call it spring scarf

I've been slacking on the blogging front. Slacking on reading blogs, commenting on blogs, and even updating my own.

It's been hard to motivate myself recently. Taking outfit photos is harder these days. When I get home from work, I force myself to the gym. If it isn't a gym night, I make a good dinner. By the time that's done, I just want to relax.

Reading blogs should be relaxing, but recently it hasn't been. It's felt like this chore - clean up the blog feed, read half the posts, comment quick to move to the next one.

It's been a few months since this feeling has crept up. I don't know, I guess I feel like I have less time to do things these days. I have been keeping pretty busy, so maybe that's part of it. I don't know.

If I'm quiet around here, this is why. I just have to figure out what my next step is, and it's probably taking a small step back for now. I'm not gone for good, I'll just be a little quieter for a bit. That's all.

Not much to say other than the next few weeks are going to be crazy!

This weekend I've helped my brother move, cleaned/painted my apartment, and joined some wonderful local ladies for a blogger brunch.

Next weekend I'm buying, moving and building IKEA furniture. Pray for me.
Over the next couple of weeks, I'll be heading to the new apartment to clean more, bring things and make the place liveable.

If I'm spotty around these parts, you know why!

The classic trench.

Can you believe I'd wanted a trench for four years and never bit the bullet?
I've decided I need to start investing in key pieces for my wardrobe. Staples. Things I hope to have around for a while.

This Gap trench is my first investment purchase. It wasn't even that expensive, but for someone who refuses to spend more than $50 on a coat, it was out of my comfort zone.

Either way, I am in love with it, and it loves me back. We've got a great relationship and I can't wait to start adding other wonderful key pieces to my wardrobe. Next up: leather tote bag and a good quality pair of sunglasses.

Patchwork pants.

Why is it that I'm completely drawn to ripped, destroyed and patched jeans?

Happy weekend!

Pink pants.

Top: Tommy Hilfiger
Vest: Old Navy
Pants: Costco
Belt, necklace: Forever 21

Know what's exciting?
Finding out you can fit a pair of girls pants.
And then buying them in two colours, for $9.99 each.

Let the celebration begin!

It's finally November. You know what that means? It's my birthday month. And because I didn't get to celebrate my birthday last year (final semester of school, had a 4-day long simulation project over my birthday weekend), I'm making sure I enjoy turning another year older this year.

My birthday isn't actually until next Saturday, but a friend of mine will be away on vaca during the festivities so we're meeting at a cake shop in Ottawa for dinner tonight. Yup, cake for dinner. And you know what? I'm not going to feel one bit guilty about it because it's birthday cake. That's right. I'll be justifying lots of things because of my birthday.. Like my birthday dress I bought to celebrate in. And the birthday earrings that went with it. And ... maybe I should quit while I'm ahead...

Have a wonderful weekend lovelies! TGIF!

White and blue.

Tommy Hilfiger top; American Eagle pants; Aldo shoes; Joe Fresh belt

There's something so classic about pairing white pants with a blue button-up shirt. To add some more colour, I styled it with a pink belt. I think the look turned out a little nautical in the end, ant it was perfect for spring!

As I had mentioned before, our weather has been going through a warm spell. As much as I don't want to have to throw on another jacket, I really don't want to get rid of my pants just yet. I still have so many ways I'd like to style these white babies, along with my green and red ones. I'm not ready for shorts-weather... That can come next month :)

Monday Blues.

I really don't want to go to work today. Now that I'm living with my parents, I crave social interaction with people my own age on a regular basis. Work doesn't help because most people are at least 10 years older. Also, the past two weekends I've just stayed home and slept, read or watched movies. It's nothing to complain about, I just don't feel like I've seen anyone new in a while. Which is why I don't want to go to work. I feel like it should still be the weekend and I should have been out having fun last night.  Next weekend is Easter weekend - I must do something.

Hopefully this 4-day week will just fly by!

EBEW: Rockin' The Green.

Winners jeans; GAP cardigan; Tommy Hilfiger (men's) shirt via Costco; F21 pants; Fossil watch

A few things today:
1. I'm channeling my inner spring: colours, cuffed pants, rolled-up sleeves. Yes, please. I can't wait until I can actually wear an outfit like this out of the house without a jacket.

2. I'm debuting my new watch - it's Fossil's "Stella" model in rose gold. I was going between regular gold and rose gold but decided that I love this colour of rose gold. It's not too pink which is exactly what I was looking for. I still need to get links taken out of it though, because it's pretty darn big as it is.

3. I'm linking this outfit up with EBEW's Green challenge! I think it's so fitting considering St. Patty's day is coming up this weekend and all... Anyone have any crazy plans?
