Coral and pink.

Joe Fresh cardigan; H&M tank; Forever 21 cropped pants, belt, necklace; Call it spring shoes

Just a work outfit. I love these pants - they're the perfect high waist. Right below my belly button, but fitting perfectly 100% of the way up. Nice work on these, Forever 21. You did good.

Do you have a pair of pants, that despite all odds, are a favourite?

Nautical pencil skirts.

Forever 21 skirt; Joe fresh striped top; Forever 21 belt; Payless flats

I instagrammed this outfit last week. Then it snowed on Friday and I realized I'd be taking photos of this re-created outfit in the snow. At least my flats held it together.

I love the nautical vibes of the stripes and the red belt. And this jersey pencil skirt from Forever 21 is one of my favourite buys probably ever. For $12 it's lasted a heck of a long time.

Cream and camo.

Don't hog the clearance rack.

I was at my local store that sells Joe Fresh, perusing the clearance rack. It's a pretty darn huge rack. And someone was just standing in the middle, looking at the same thing for a good 5 minutes.
So I move past her to the knits. I pick up this amazing sweater, and she looks over at me. Sees the sweater. Moves over to my rack and starts sifting through to find another one.
I notice she can't find one in the same colour, so she picks up a gray one, clearly annoyed that I found it first.
Because my cream one was a couple sizes too big, I see a second gray in a smaller size and grab it quickly. She's left standing at the clearance rack watching me walk away with the sweater she could have had.

I ended up liking the oversized look, so I stuck with the bigger, cream coloured sweater.

Moral of the story: Don't hog the clearance rack. You might watch someone walk away with something better.

#OOTD... and hair probz.

Dynamite jacket; Joe fresh top and pants

k guys, don't look closely at my hair.
kay, I know you looked.

MY ROOTS! Ermahgerd, I don't even know what to do. I'm using clarifying shampoo and this demi-permanent is just not moving on. I've got a backwards ombre going on.

Think I could make it cool?

Mistfits.

I liked this outfit.
I pulled out pieces from my closet that I hadn't worn in a while,
put them together,
and voila.

Except these boots.
I've been wearing them a lot.
They rock my socks off.
But not literally.
That would be cold.

The entire cat population is my best friend.

So about the top....

I am 100%, through-and-through, a cat person. I always have been, always will be.
One day my friend sent me a picture of a sweater with this saying. It was sold out, and I was sad.

Then I was on Pinterest (you can follow me here!) and I saw this top. Pinned.
I followed the link to a small shop in the states called Skreened
They screen-print shirts.
I ordered it.
Here it is.

This is the first time Pinterest has successfully lead me to something that I've purchased.
Way to go, Pinterest. Way to go.

And this is about when I realized it was a bad idea to venture in the snow.
Boot full of snow.

Blazers, boots and books.

Dynamite blazer; Joe Fresh top; Forever 21 necklace; American Eagle pants

Generally, I like reading. Except when I come across a book that I just can't get into. I'm currently reading The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling and it's been taking forever to finish. I think I'm on page 130 of 4 bazillion. Well not quite that, but you get the point. I just can't get into it. I have all these other books on my shelf begging to be read and I refuse to pick up another until this one's finished.

Has anyone else read/attempted to read The Casual Vacancy? Did you like it? Anyone else have the same problem I'm having?!

On another note, I never wear this pink shirt. It's a fun pop of colour. I should wear it more. Also this blazer. And I luuuurve these boots. K done now.

Equestrian.

Joe Fresh chambray top; American Eagle pants; Payless boots

Dunno 'bout you, but I feel like I'm about to jump on a horse in this outfit. The whole "riding" vibe with my fave boots, tanned pants and chambray top is getting to me.

True story, I've never been on a horse. Actually, that's not a true story. One time when I was three or four I rode a pony. I have pictures to prove to myself that I did it. Since then, I haven't been on a horse or even near a horse. They're massive and scare me a little bit. I mean, I don't think they're going to try to kill me or anything, but if that thing falls over and I'm under it, I'm done.

Even still, I think horseback riding would be kind of neat. My friend and I have mentioned going for fun, but nothing has come out of it. Maybe we'll have to seriously look into it so I can have a reason to wear my "equestrian" outfit ;)

My favourite place.

Joe Fresh sweater; The Bay button-down (men's); American Eagle jegging; Walmart boots; H&M socks; Old Navy scarf

Everyone's got a favourite place. A place that speaks to them.
A place where they can go to get away from it all; where they can clear their head.

This is my place.

I can walk around back here for hours just listening to my music.
It is a little discomforting going deep into the woods since there have been bear sightings in the neighbourhood over the summer. You never really know if you're going to come across something, so I stick to the main path.

Aside from that, there's nothing that I love more than the sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet.
And the feeling of fresh air on my face.
Or the rays of sun peeking through the trees, warming my skin.

A part of me can't wait until the snow falls, because then this place becomes a winter wonderland.

Do you have a favourite place?

It's a wrap.

Joe Fresh wrap sweater (similar); Forever 21 button-up; Dynamite slacks (similar); Sirens boots (similar); Castellammare leaf necklace

...Wrap sweater!!! Favourite part of fall? All the cozy sweaters and things that I can wrap myself in all nice and warm. Wearing something like this to work makes me feel like I'm back home, on my couch, wrapped in a blanket.
Well maybe not quite.
But it's the closest thing I'll get when I'm at the office.

What's everyone doing this weekend? My plans are no plans :) The last few weekends I've been up late and it's messed with my sleep schedule. This weekend I plan on catching up on sleep, reading a few books, and maybe watching a few movies. I would say shopping but I'm still on a freaking shopping ban that seems to never end...

Animal prints & fall hues.

Joe Fresh top; Dynamite pants & Scarf; Payless shoes

I unintentionally matched leopard print. I forgot I had these shoes on when I threw on the scarf. I like to think it works anyway, but as a co-worker pointed out "you're matching!" ... :| That's the worst. I don't want to look like I tried to match, because really, I didn't. I'm just not a fan of being too match-y, but that's just me.

I love the hunter green colour of this top, but the lack of natural light makes it pretty hard to see. I have a few more outfits in the queue, but as of tonight I'm done taking photos after work. I'll have to hold them aside for the weekends because it's so hard now to capture details when it's getting dark.

On a completely unrelated note, thank you to my bff Friday for finally coming around. For some reason I've been exhausted since Monday, even with 8+ hours of sleep a night. I'm not sure of my weekend plans, but it seems like I'll be staying in tonight - yay!!! You know you're getting older when you are celebrating a Friday night in...

Any fun plans for the weekend?

Flower power.

Joe Fresh denim top; American Eagle floral skinnies; Forever 21 booties & necklace

I'm wearing pants with flowers on them. And not little flowers... big flowers. I don't even know why, but as soon as I laid eyes on these babies they had to be mine. When I got them for 50% off, the decision was made even easier.

The only downside is I can't wear them to work! This seriously limits how much wear I can get out of them but that's okay, as long as most of my wardrobe is work-appropriate I am allowed to have a couple pieces that are unique ;)

Do you have two separate wardrobes for work and life, or do you try to make your wardrobes work for both?

Self-control.

And the mandatory "someone is taking my photos" laughing picture. It makes me awkward, okay

I was at a friend's place over the weekend and asked her to take pictures of my outfit. That explains the brick wall and balcony shot.

I'm going to share my thoughts about self-control today.

Sometimes I have it.
Like right now.

I'm taking a week off of junk food. I've cut out chocolate, ice cream, refined sugar, any junk-y type foods that don't fit into any of the four main food groups. I've gone two full days and I've survived without much of a battle. Perhaps it'll get harder as the week passes, but I think I've got this one in the bag. I am fully committed and won't be putting my hands on chocolate until Sunday. I feel like I have enough self-control to get me there.

But then again, I said this to myself 4-5 months ago when I went through the exact same thing. I cut back (a lot) on junk food and would treat myself to it once a day so I didn't abuse it. Somehow I fell off that bandwagon and found myself eating ice cream, chocolate and candy all in one night, every night.

Here's to self-control and hopefully sticking to it this time!

... Please don't tell me I'm the only one with a crazy chocolate addiction. I swear it's the only thing I actually miss.

Denim tops & loafer heels.

Joe Fresh denim top; Dynamite jeggings; Le Chateau heels; Forever 21 necklace

Thanks Joe Fresh for making the perfect denim top. I've been looking for one for a while, and it appeared on my fall wish-list that I tweeted a few months back (along with my mocassins). I finally found it for an affordable price of $24! Loooooove.

Also, can I just say how happy I am that we are still seeing loafer shoes everywhere? When I bought these on mega sale last winter I wasn't sure how long they'd last me. After seeing a number of loafer styles come out this fall, I'm happy that the trend is sticking around a little longer. On top of that, the height on these babies is awesome.

On a completely unrelated note: Ohmygosh. Today is Friday. Hollaaaaa.

A top 3 list, but not about fashion.

Joe Fresh top; Winners pants; Call it Spring shoes; Forever 21 necklace and bracelets; Fossil watch

On Sunday I went to see Total Recall with my mom. We're awesome and go to movies together, it rocks. And then there she was - Kate Beckinsale. No, not at the movie theatre, but on the big screen...

See, I have a top 3 list. A list of the top three Hollywood actresses that I have girl crushes on. I like men, but you know, girls have girl crushes too. These are my three:

1. Rachel McAdams. Stunning. I just watched The Notebook over the weekend and sometimes had a hard time figuring out who to stare at: her or Ryan Gosling. Seriously.

2. Kate Beckinsale. Since her role in Pearl Harbour, I have been one of her biggest fans. She just has such perfect facial features, and her hair...my god, how is her hair always so perfect?

3. Emma Stone - the striking red-head. Though she can pull off brown quite nicely, I'm not sure how I feel about the blonde...

Now, if you asked me to list my top 3 Hollywood actors, I would have to tell you I haven't ever thought about it. Maybe I'll go think about it now and report back to you guys another time.

Happy Tuesday!
