Lilac blazer.

Talula blazer; H&M tank; American Eagle denim; Payless shoes; Castellammare designs necklace

Thank you, sun-glare, for taking the purple out of my blazer. Just imagine the purple blazer. It was one of my recent Aritzia purchases from that time I went and blew my budget x2.

Typical Kelly. Right thurrr.

More black & white.

Forever 21 skirt; Call it Spring sandals; Old Navy tank

I hope everyone had a nice summer weekend. Mines was filled with a couple great coffee dates, endless episodes of Modern Family, and a couple hours of enjoying the sunshine. It was low-key, but it was just what I needed.

What did you do this weekend?

Alive.

I keep having these moments of serenity where I pause and think, "wow, isn't this beautiful". Whether it's in the simplicity of sitting on a park bench by the water feeling the breeze in my hair, or sitting at home and admiring how beautifully the sun shines through my curtains at the exact right time.

It's like I'm waking up. My senses are coming alive. I feel like I'm seeing things for the first time. Even though, in reality, they're nothing really new at all.

Coral + stripes + white pants + leopard print.

Forever 21 tank; American Eagle jeans; Payless shoes; GAP bag

Special thanks to this guy for taking his sweet time getting on his bike.
Thanks for not staring at me. I can tell because you were in every single picture looking away.
On purpose? Probably.

Does it make me a creeper if I just took 30 photos of this dude by accident?

Happy Friday!!

Hats. Hats. Hats.

Gap cardigan; H&M tank, hat, shoes; American Apparel leggings; Castellammare designs necklace

Linking up with Marion from MarionBerry Style for the first time in way too long for her "Trend of the Month" link-up. This month? Hats. And I remembered to bring mine home so I could force my little bro to take some shots of me wearing it.

Also I tried to look cool by standing in a field. I just have no idea what this field was of.... Weeds? Cool factor totally amplified.

On writing.

I've never really been one to write. I blog, but my blog is here to share stories with you. It's a communication tool. Though I find blogging relaxing, I've never had a desire to write outside of this medium.

But recently I've found myself filled with words, thoughts and emotions that I can't help but need to document. It's weird, isn't it, how the smallest of things can inspire you. One day you're filled with peace and quiet, and the next you're frantically trying to scribble all your thoughts down before you lose one.

And I've been using my phone to help me blog. I'll open the note pad and write and write and write possible post content. Before, I would take photos and write a post that worked. Or wait until I got home with an idea in the back of my head.

Not gunna lie, this shift is weirding me out a bit.

Puppies, donuts and beaches. Oh My!

Summer weekends can't come quick enough. Wait, I take that back. ANY weekend can't come quick enough. Especially when this is what your weekend is made of.
The proudest, craziest dog.
Sandwiches in nature are 10000x better.
Fresh donuts, anyone?
My beach read I finished and WOW... Loved.It.
With my favourite lion.

Now I'm off to enjoy the weather some more aka. find a park and read. Today we've got no humidity, so I can finally breathe outside!

Hope your weekend's been fantastic :)

Peach.

H&M dress; Call it Spring shoes

Happy weekend everyone! Time to actually enjoy the heat without sweating inside.
Because you don't have A/C.
And you're too cheap to buy a window unit.
:)

Lounge outfit + today's thoughts.

Forever 21 crop top; American Eagle pants; Tom's shoes

You know those things that you have to do, but you don't want to.
You're scared of opening up a can of worms, releasing what might be sealed tight beneath.

But what if that can of worms has been begging to be opened?
Maybe you just couldn't see it until now?

Take control. In the end, you'll be glad you did.

On a lighter note, if I could wear anything for the rest of my life, this would probably be it.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee! Happy Wednesday!

Pops of colour.

Pops of colour to brighten up this otherwise basic b&w outfit. Really digging this emerald belt I got at H&M the other day. Freaking sweet.

Also, I know you've seen me wearing my Castellammare Designs jewellery on this blog. I have these earrings, this necklace and this necklace, and rotate them throughout the week. LOVE them. Right now Castellammare Designs is having a huge overstock sale and you can get mega discounts on all of these items! If you're looking to spice up your jewellery, I strongly suggest checking this out!  http://www.etsy.com/shop/castellammaredesigns

Wear all the white.

So I found these from like.. May.
It's Saturday. I'm pretty drained from a bad sleep last night.
So here's an outfit. Sorry it's not ideal, but I am le tired.

Little white dress.

American Eagle dress; Call it spring sandals

Sometimes a little white dress is enough.
A minimal, no accessories, easy outfit.
It's summertime and things must be breezy in this heat.

Vacation recap.

In case you didn't know, I was on vacation all week last week. It was pretty fab. I tried to get out of the house most days, since I didn't have any big plans to travel.

This is what I was able to do:

Celebrate Canada Day in the nation's capital.
It's not every day you can stand in the middle of the street.

Bluesfest with a friend to see Jimmy Eat World (!!!)

A trip to Westport with a friend to have an adventure. And an adventure we sure had!

Another day at the beach where this happened...
Would you believe I even applied sunscreen (twice)? Yup. The life of a pale person.

Hit up a great spot by the river to read.

And went to Bluesfest a second time to see Tegan and Sara & Fun.
(that is fun. I was too far away for it to matter though)

Ahh, sweet, sweet vacation.

Story of my life. Literally.

More and more I'm glad to be able to share my life and stories on this blog rather than just pictures of my outfit. I came across a few interesting ways for you guys to get to know me better, and I'd like to turn some into posts.

Today I'm challenging myself to teach you a little more about me, by telling you the story of my life in only 250 words. Here it goes!

I was born just over 23 and a half years ago, into an amazing and loving family. I am extremely blessed and very lucky to have them all in my life. With my mom being French-Canadian, love and family is the most important thing in life and I've grown up to value it.

When I was 3 I started Kindergarten because I was born late in the year, and apparently I cried a lot. When I was 9 I fell off my bike pretty bad and scarred my knee. It's still there. That same year, I had my first real boy crush, and it lasted through four years of elementary (I don't stray!). When I was 9 I also met my best friends who have still been with me over these last 13 (almost 14) years of my life. I love them to pieces.

When I was 13 I started high school and was obsessed with Good Charlotte. I went all "punk" for a couple of years (not a joke). When I was 16 I started to grow up and realized how complicated life was. I also started dating a boy who, in the end, taught me so many lessons about love, life and myself.

When I was 17 I went away to University and graduated 4 years later at the top of my class. At 22, I was tasked with finding out who I was, what I was doing, and where I was going. At 23, I'm still trying to figure it out. Also, I have learned that life will always be complicated.

Your turn. Think you could sum your life up in 250 words?

Breezy for the beach.

Forever 21 top; Winners shorts; Toms shoes

Quick and breezy beach outfit from the other day.
Apparently I have a thing for crop tops right now.
And short shorts.

Insta-outfit.

So I've become that person. The one who uses instagram to capture daily outfits.
It's difficult when I don't have an empty street to take pictures on. It's hard to break out of that comfort zone.
So while I continue to fight the battle of outfit photos, here are some Insta-outfits I've taken recently instead:
Yep, that is a bra on my bed. Not intentional. Whoops
