Affordable style.

Forever 21 cardigan and top; H&M pants; Zellers shoes

Here's a work outfit from last week. Both the top and pants were new purchases that I really shouldn't have bought but couldn't walk away from. Seriously - they were steals. 10$ for a cute heart-printed tank? $15 for a pair of high-waisted stretchy denim? Um, yes please. That kind of stuff sucks me in. I'm a sucker for super affordable style.

The same day I bought these "bank-breakers", my friend took me into Holt Refrew and asked for my opinion on some designer sunglasses. Well folks, she looked fabulous in those glasses but the price was ca-ray-zay.  I know many people who like to invest in long-lasting quality pieces, and I can definitely appreciate their reasons, but I haven't hit that point yet. I'm still loving my $15 pants and $5 sunnies from the clearance bin at Aldo. I'll show you those babies another time. :)

What drives your shopping? Quality, price or both?

  1. Haha, I love a bargain too but I have to admit I like investing in a few quality pieces too ever now and then. Usually I splurge on things like bags and sunnies that I know I will wear so many times and probably keep for a really long time!

I think a mix is good, I couldn't justify spending a tonne on every item.

This outfit is cute.. Seems a little 80s esque to me for some reason... Think its the heels and the skinny jeans with the bright top. :)

  3. The heart print on the tank is so adorable! I am ALL about a bargain, so I'm with ya. I invest in certain things, like handbags and I DO have a few nice pairs of sunglasses. But other than that, I'm a cheapskate :)

  4. Very cute! And I am usually driven by price too... Very rarely do I feel the need to buy something pricey even if it's fantastic quality. I just feel like at this point in my life my taste in clothes changes so much that investment pieces are not worth it. Maybe in like 10 years... :)

  10. My best friend is very quality over quantity (she prob owns 50 items max whereas I own prob 500, mostly cheapo!) I get bored of clothing easily so cheap and cheerful is my motto! Love the green striped top and the necklace is stunning!

  11. I like to think I'm all about quality when in reality it's all about the price for me! I'll definitely by splurging on quality pieces though once I'm no longer a poor uni student haha! Plus I love the thrill of finding bargain pieces - all the style, half the price :)
