A little Friday reminder.

Forever 21 top, shoes; American Eagle pants

Just a simple, every-day summer outfit to remind you that life truly is beautiful.
Never forget it.

Happy Friday lovelies!

Ode to chocolate.

Joe Fresh cardigan; American Eagle jeans and tank; Forever 21 flats

This is totally and completely aside from fashion, but I have a confession to make.

I am in love with chocolate.

I have always been in love with chocolate since before I can remember. My first few steps ever, as I'm told, were for a Mars bar (side note: I now dislike Mars bars... interesting.) I love milk chocolate, but recently I have developed an appreciation for darker chocolate. There's something so satisfying about the richness in it.  I also love chocolate with other flavours - mint and orange are my favourite pairings. Christmas time bring some of my favourite treats such as Terry's chocolate oranges and After Eights. But aside from those flavours, I love almonds with chocolate, peanuts with chocolate, and even the mixture of white chocolate and milk chocolate.

It's too bad that trying to be healthy does not allow for a lot of indulgences, but chocolate is one of those things I won't be giving up.

Is there any food that you could never ever give up?

Puppy print.

Old Navy top; American Eagle jeans; Spring shoes; F21 necklace; Fossil watch

I bought this puppy-printed shirt ages ago, but for some reason I never got around to putting it on. I think I was subconsciously waiting for warmer temperatures before pulling it out of my closet. Since we've had great weather lately, it was time to make its debut.

These shoes are new too. They were found on my trip to Montreal, but they didn't have my size and then I had to order them.  They finally came last week. They're a tiny bit too small, so they're annoyingly painful right now, but I'm breaking them in. Soon they'll be the perfect size.  Though probably not until my feet die a few more times...Beauty is pain.

Happy weekend.

You know those days that just plain rock? The ones where you wake up to the birds chirping and the sunlight streaming in your window...those where you have no set plans and can take it easy...where you can wear your white pants and not feel like summer is light-years away.

Last Saturday was one of those days. And this is what I wore. I know it's a little late but I shuffle around outfit photos sometimes...

Well, now that it's Friday again here's to another weekend of sun, warm temperatures, and taking it easy. I've got some stuff planned for Mother's Day, but that's all part of the wonderful weekend :) I won't disclose what I'm doing because on occasion my mom reads this blog (..hah..) and I don't want any secrets revealed, but do you guys have any plans?

Affordable style.

Forever 21 cardigan and top; H&M pants; Zellers shoes

Here's a work outfit from last week. Both the top and pants were new purchases that I really shouldn't have bought but couldn't walk away from. Seriously - they were steals. 10$ for a cute heart-printed tank? $15 for a pair of high-waisted stretchy denim? Um, yes please. That kind of stuff sucks me in. I'm a sucker for super affordable style.

The same day I bought these "bank-breakers", my friend took me into Holt Refrew and asked for my opinion on some designer sunglasses. Well folks, she looked fabulous in those glasses but the price was ca-ray-zay.  I know many people who like to invest in long-lasting quality pieces, and I can definitely appreciate their reasons, but I haven't hit that point yet. I'm still loving my $15 pants and $5 sunnies from the clearance bin at Aldo. I'll show you those babies another time. :)

What drives your shopping? Quality, price or both?

EBEW: Nautical.

Dynamite blazer; Forever 21 top and necklace; American Eagle jeans; H&M flats

This is as nautical as it's going to get. Stripes, cropped blazer (somehow nautical-feely), gold chain necklace. To complete this look I wish I had a rope bracelet or some cute boat-shoes - but hey, you can't have everything!

Speaking of rope bracelets - if you want to get your hands on one, Kate of O My Heart has her own Etsy shop selling these beauties. I haven't bought one yet but I have been eyeing them up... I love the white-rope bracelet. Anyway, just thought they were cute and went with the theme of the day!

Anyways, I'm linking up with EBEW and going to check out the rest of the nautical looks when I've got a chance. You should too!

Midriff.

Forever 21 sweater and shoes; American Eagle jeggings; Fossil watch

Flash back to 1999 when Britney Spears released Baby One More Time. Showing your "midriff" was all the rage and all the little girls sported cropped tops. Well, I'm bringing it back y'all.  Honestly though, this was one of the softest and most comfortable sweaters I have ever come across. It had to come home with me even if it showed off a bit of skin. I can't wait to pair it with some denim cut-offs when the weather gets just a teeny bit nicer.

Another Montreal-trip purchase were these adorable polka-dot shoes. I don't have a lot of exciting footwear so I get attracted to any pattern or bright colour I come across. These ones whispered my name, and for less than $20 I was sold. I can never walk away from a great deal.

Well, TGIF! I don't know what I'd do if the weekend wasn't around the corner. This morning I was up at 5am, so I'm ready for a couple days to sleep in. In stereotypical blogger fashion, I'm posting this from the Starbucks close to my work. Killing time until 8am comes around.

Happy weekend to everyone!

Boho.

Costa Blanca top; F21 necklace and (diy'ed) maxi skirt; Dynamite belt; H&M flats

I'm changing it up a little and going boho here. I love this peasant top and I'm constantly looking for new ways to style it. The maxi skirt was an obvious choice. I played up the boho theme with my accessories and braided hair. Woohoo.

Turns out I set my alarm a little later than I meant to this morning so I have to cut this post short. But happy 1st of the month! I can't believe how quickly time flies these days...

Not a fall outfit.

American Eagle top & jeans; F21 shirt; Smart set necklace; Spring shoes

Ahh, TGIF everyone! With the colder weather that has recently hit, I feel like I'm pulling from my winter clothes pile again. This sweater is just another example of the wonderful "spring" style I've got going on. Too bad it better reflects the fall...

I also must admit I've been a really bad blogger. I try to follow up on comments and read your blogs every night, but I've been super busy the last two days and haven't had a chance. And who knows how today's going to go. It's hit-or-miss if the bus I'll be on has wifi... If it does, I'll can play catch-up for two hours. If not, well, I'll have to find some downtime this weekend. I miss you guys and I feel totally out of the loop!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Trend of the month: Florals

F21 dress, belt, necklace; Chaps (men's) top via Costco; H&M flats

This outfit was a bad idea. It's still way too cold here for bare-legs. But it's the only floral that I had, and I can't bring myself to wear tights in April. I just can't.  If you haven't noticed yet, I'm doing a link-up with Marion for her Trend of the Month challenge at Marionberry. This month it's florals. And I own no more floral than this dress...It's just never been my thing I guess?

I really don't have much to talk about today. Writer's block I guess. So I'll just state the obvious - it's Wednesday, I'm happy that the week is half over, and I may or may not be going to Montreal this weekend (friend still has to get back to me on that one). Plus it looks like we'll be seeing sun again on Saturday. This week of rain is a killer.

A lesson for men.

F21 blazer; Chaps button-up via Costco (men's); American Eagle jeans; Spring shoes; Fossil watch

Dear men: If you are emotionally unavailable, please don't speak to women. If you do speak to women, at least do not try to date them. Don't ask for their number, don't take them on dates, don't play interested. Because in the end, it makes you an asshole. It's a shame men don't read this blog.

Dear women: If you are interested in a man who is emotionally unavailable, RUN AWAY. That is all.

Matador.

Dynamite blazer; F21 blouse & pants; Payless shoes

Can I let you guys in on a little secret? I felt like a matador in this outfit. You know, a bullfighter. Why? Well, the cropped blazer, the high-waisted and cropped pants, the orange-red... I don't know. Just something about this outfit made me think of one. Which is sort of crazy because now that I sit here and look at pictures of matadors, there's not much resemblance. Maybe I've just always wanted to fight bulls?

Surprise package.

F21 blazer; AE pants; Payless shoes; gifted shirt

The other day I came home to a random package sitting on my bed. I picked it up, it felt like clothing, and was sent from Emma at Verbal Melange.  She had previously messaged me letting me know she might send me some stuff as she cleaned out her closet - so exciting! I ripped it open and found this gem of a shirt, among others. She knows me well - I love plaid. Thanks Emma, you rock!

My cat Toby decided to photo-bomb this shoot. That second picture is my "who does she think she is?" pose. She's silly... that's why I love her. Though the other day, she jumped on my face in the middle of the night. Right.on.my.face. I didn't love her so much then - she almost gave me a heart attack. Oh well, I can't stay mad very long at her. Just look at that little face...
