MOTIVATION.

Tommy Hilfiger top (via Costco); Payless shoes; Call it spring scarf

I've been slacking on the blogging front. Slacking on reading blogs, commenting on blogs, and even updating my own.

It's been hard to motivate myself recently. Taking outfit photos is harder these days. When I get home from work, I force myself to the gym. If it isn't a gym night, I make a good dinner. By the time that's done, I just want to relax.

Reading blogs should be relaxing, but recently it hasn't been. It's felt like this chore - clean up the blog feed, read half the posts, comment quick to move to the next one.

It's been a few months since this feeling has crept up. I don't know, I guess I feel like I have less time to do things these days. I have been keeping pretty busy, so maybe that's part of it. I don't know.

If I'm quiet around here, this is why. I just have to figure out what my next step is, and it's probably taking a small step back for now. I'm not gone for good, I'll just be a little quieter for a bit. That's all.

  1. I totally get what your saying. I have been feeling the same way lately. I also kind of been feeling like it's all the same thing. Not you of course..and a few other bloggers I've become friends with. But I feel like I'm reading the same thing over and over from a lot of people. From sponsored post, to the same item of clothing.. it's getting boring. Idk maybe it's just me, maybe I need to step away for a little too..

  2. cute button down! i totally get what you mean about the blogging rut! what i do is usually try to plan some more posts in advance, cut back on blogs i don't love reading, and just take a breath. then i feel freer and more inspired

  4. I totally understand how blogging/reading blogs can start to feel like a chore. Sometimes we need a blog break to refresh!

  5. Definitely understand what you're going through! Sometimes though it's okay to take a little time to reset. Blogging should be something that makes you happy :) I read my blog feed on my ipad over coffee in the morning and I find it so much easier than on my computer. It's just about finding what works!

  6. I totally understand. Life gets so busy and I'm not sure why we bloggers always feel the need to HAVE to post, comment, read, etc. I have a lot going on too. I always feel bad when people comment on my blog and I don't have time to comment on theirs. But I find my best posts are the ones that I do after breaks from my blog. I do, however, love this outfit. Have a relaxing weekend!

  7. UH GURL

I know the feeling. I like to blame it on the days getting shorter and colder and SADD and all that stupid jazz. But for reals though...it's hard to be motivated when it's dark before 7 pm :(

  8. It happens to us all at some time or another. Blogging shouldn't feel like a chore, so take the time away to refresh and rethink. I used to catch up on blogs on a daily or near-daily basis. Now I do it in one go once a week or once every two weeks, and I felt like I've regained my sanity!

  9. Hey, do what you want to do and if you don't want to blog today or this whole week you don't have to ^^ We'll still be here tomorrow! I haven't blogged last week because well, I had so much other things on my planning that required my attention, and blogging just wasn't more fun than those activities were for me. :-) xo

    PS: seriously perfect fall outfit!
