The boundaries of coloured jeans.

Style bloggers are known for pushing themselves past their style-comfort-zones and trying new things. To me, reading style blogs is a constant source of inspiration and new ideas.
I love it.

The other day, I was talking to someone about coloured jeans. They were telling me how hard they are to style.  I found myself telling them, "They're practically a neutral! You can pair them with anything." And then I felt a bit like Stacy London...

It's likely that blogging is the only reason I said that. Without blogging, I'd probably be terrified of so much colour, all over my body, at the same time. Now? I'm just used to it.

Red and white.

This would have been a pretty great Canada Day outfit. Ah well, maybe next year! I've been looking for more ways to wear my red pants, and I don't know why but I seem to be turning to simple t-shirts lately. There's just something about a plain tee that is so comfortable, easy and breezy.

I just finished reading Fifty Shades of Grey and now I'm only the second book in the trilogy. It was a surprisingly interesting read, aside from the whole erotica theme. The main character, Christian Grey, is super interesting to learn about and I'm excited to read the rest of the series over the next while.

After this though, I am looking for more books to read. Anyone got any good suggestions?

Pink shoes.

So I bought pink shoes. These came into my possession that one day I broke my shopping ban... Oops.

In all fairness, Spring had a pair or shoes just like this last year, but in a coral colour. I was always upset that I didn't get my hands on a pair before they were sold out. They're even on my Pinterest "style" board from way back when. When I saw these, I knew it was my chance. I had to have them. I love them. So, naturally, I had to break the shopping ban. Was it worth it? Heck yes.

The only problem - they're a fabric exterior. Kind of like a canvas material? They get dirty easily, and although I've been very careful, the heels are getting dirty from driving... Anyone know how I can clean them? Would soap and water work? Ahhh I don't know what to do. Save me and my favourite shooooooeesssss!

EBEW: Neon.

The only problem with the gym: your legs get bigger.

Although this is a good thing (because I'm being active and healthy), it's annoying when my pants get too tight. Like these ones. I feel like the hulk about to burst out of some of my jeans. This is no good. And I'm not going to stop going to the gym, so I guess I need to figure out how to stretch these or retire them...

Aside from my legs, there's some neon in this outfit. Mostly because I'm linking up with EBEW's neon challenge. Woooooooooooooo! I bought this shirt at H&M a couple months ago and it's one of my favourite tees at the moment. The baggy cut, wide neck and rolled up sleeves rock. I think this top was $10? Steeeeeal. Although, I feel like a bit of a watermelon in this outfit. Pink, green, and spots of black. Hmm...

Top-knot.

This is the extent of a top-knot that you'll ever get out of me. Any higher up and my face/head looks a mile long. And that's not an exaggeration. Well, obviously it is a little.. Okay, a lot.

Anyways...

I really like cobalt blue and orange. I don't know why I never thought of pairing these two colours before, but I'm totally digging it. I love trying out new colour combinations. It makes everything seem just a little brighter :) Also, I really need to update my jewellery collection. I swear out of the 30 necklaces I own, I rotate 4. That's it. Isn't that sad?

So ladies, today I ask: where can I get some nice necklaces that don't break the bank?

Fire engine red.

Bam. There are those red jeans again. I have a constant internal conflict about wearing them to work. I've seen a couple others at work in red or cobalt blue jeans, but I feel like mine are SO DARN BRIGHT. Like fire engine red. Because it's a casual workplace, I could totally pull it off if I styled them right. I just haven't had the guts to do it yet. If you have any inspirational messages, feel free to send them my way while this internal conflict continues...

Would you wear coloured pants to work?

EBEW & BDIB: Red (+ Pink)

Guys, this is bold for me. I'm still not sure I'm loving this look, but I tried to gather all the red and pink I own and this is all there was. I've never loved red on me, and pink is somehow rare in my closet. I must change this soon...

Today I'm linking up with TWO challenges - EBEW's Red & Pink and BDIB's Red. Colour challenges are fun because almost anyone can participate in them. I think you get so much creativity because people can use completely different articles of clothing to create the red & pink combination. There's the subtle addition of colourful accessories, or the bold head-to-toe combination. So much chance for inspiration along the way :)

The Real Red Pants.

I was going to start this post off writing about my 'red pants debut', but then I realized, I've already posted a red-pants-outfit before. However, those ones had to go back to where they came from, and I was left red-pant-less again. Until very recently...

Thank you Winners! You are wonderful. I often search your racks for hours trying to find a hidden gem, but today I didn't have to. Today you had these red pants out on display for all to see. You saved me a great deal of time, and a great deal of money. I got these babies for $19.99!

...I also got another colour, but you guys will find out which one in time. ;)

Again, I linked up this post with Kayla's (from Freckles in April) winter challenge. Today it's trends, so I thought my coloured denim would fit in quite nicely with the prompt. C'mon and check the rest of the trendy folk out!

Coloured Denim.

It seems that coloured denim will be sticking around for a little while longer. We have all seen the rise of cobalt blue and red, but now stores are featuring so many other colours like purple, yellow, pink, green and orange! I love my blue jeans and would love to invest in another colour, but which one?

(1) Coral: Forever 21
(2) Mustard: ASOS
(3) Violet: Forever 21
(4) Pink: American Eagle
(5) Green: ASOS
(6) Red: Forever 21

What colour would you pick?
