Winter repeats.

Vero Moda top (via The Bay); American Apparel leggings; Forever 21 shoes; Aldo scarf

This is pretty much a repeat outfit from last year with different shoes and a different scarf.
What can I say, it's a favourite. It's simple. It's cozy with a bit of cute. It's the perfect way to keep warm.

Clouds.

Dex top (via The Bay); Talula leggings (via Aritzia); Target wedges

These leggings make me feel like I have clouds on my legs.

But seriously, the weather? What is UP? We're probably 30 degrees tomorrow in Ottawa again, while the mornings have been about 5 degrees. UM HELLO. What am I supposed to wear that transitions 25 degrees in 12 hours?! :JGOIEWJLFKWEFMWE:JF

It's beyond frustrating to get dressed for work sometimes.
Sheesh, I guess there could be worse things.

Winter red.

Vest: The Bay (Material Girl)
Top: H&M
Pants: Winners
Boots: Le Chateau

"Be festive", they say.
So I wear red pants.

Fur vest.

Boots: Call it Spring

I finally have myself a fur vest.

Finally.

My favourite place.

Everyone's got a favourite place. A place that speaks to them.
A place where they can go to get away from it all; where they can clear their head.

This is my place.

I can walk around back here for hours just listening to my music.
It is a little discomforting going deep into the woods since there have been bear sightings in the neighbourhood over the summer. You never really know if you're going to come across something, so I stick to the main path.

Aside from that, there's nothing that I love more than the sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet.
And the feeling of fresh air on my face.
Or the rays of sun peeking through the trees, warming my skin.

A part of me can't wait until the snow falls, because then this place becomes a winter wonderland.

Do you have a favourite place?

Unexpected gifts.

Topshop top (via The Bay); H&M capris; Forever 21 wedges

My friend that I was visiting in Montreal gifted me this top. She had bought it online in two sizes, and meant to return the one that didn't fit but forgot. Months later, she couldn't return it and asked if I wanted it. Um, YES! The cut-out details sold me on the top, but it's also a light-weight chambray which is perfect for the summer temps.

Today I'm off to get my hair coloured. I'm going blonde. JUST KIDDING. I don't think I could ever pull THAT off. I'm doing a demi-permanent to go a couple of shades darker. I usually do this in the fall/winter but I'm eager for a change now. Since this is my "week of Kelly" I have decided to go for it.

I have lots to smile about.

Today's one of those days when you realize what you have and how incredibly lucky you are.  I'm grateful for so many things and so many people in my life. My family, my friends and those who are looking out for me even when I don't realize it. I'm lucky to have food, shelter and freedom.  I'm grateful for the opportunities I've been given and chances I've been able to take. But more than anything, I'm fortunate to be able to live, breathe and be human.

What are you grateful for?

Fall colours

I've worn an outfit similar to this one, I admit it. But not exactly the same!

I also did my hair a little differently.  I haven't curled it like this in a while so it was a bit of an experiment.  Not to toot my own horn or anything, but it did look nice... That is, until the wind killed it. I swear, half of the volume in my curls was lost on this trip out to take photos. How unfortunate - maybe I should have worn a bubble over my head or something.  <-- that was weird.

This weekend I'm working on a case study and writing a presentation. Also my printer died, so lucky me I get to print everything at my parent's place and hope that I don't need anything last-minute because I don't have one at school... The joys of technology!

.... And Happy Saturday! Hope you're all having a much more wonderful weekend than I am :)
