The joys of online shopping.

Recently I got this high-low dress from Windsor. Oh the beauty of online shopping.

I loved the idea of a high-low dress for spring. When I saw this dress I was in luuuuuurve.
When I opened the package it was perfect. Then I put it on... This is what I didn't like about this particular dress on me:

1. The colour against my skin tone. Oh yes, I should have known. And maybe I did and just ignored it anyways.
2. How short it is in the front. I purposely selected these two photos because they didn't give anything away... But yes, I guess I'm too tall or something. Is 5'7" too tall now?
3. Can I just say again, the COLOUR. Ugh. Not good on me. I need a mega tan for this.

Don't get me wrong - the dress still rocks, but it's just not right for me.

Don't you just love online shopping sometimes?

  1. oh girl, I hate it when that happens! A couple years ago I ordered a few things from J Crew and in store their clothes fit rather tight so I went for the bigger of the two sizes I am (8 or 10) and the clothes were MASSIVE, like too big to wear! So frustrating! To the thrift stores!!

    1. Gosh that is so annoying! Especially when you buy from a store you can't return to, in store. UGH.Those are the worst.

  2. Maybe it's the lighting in these pictures but I really like the color of the dress on you! If you feel like it's washing you out maybe a colorful necklace or scarf would help :)

    1. That's not a bad idea! Although I do feel like my legs blend in too, maybe some colourful shoes?

  3. Ohh I don't think it's too bad! But yes, I've given up on online shopping too. I just keep talking myself into things that aren't any good in real life! :)

    1. Isn't it so frustrating! Especially when returning it means spending MORE money than you'd get back. Oh well!

  6. I love the fit of the top part of the dress on you... but not the best colour... too bad... and yes - its extreme hi/low....

    Love you though!

    1. Seriously. It's like these dresses are made for people under 5'4" and tanned to the max... BOO!

  7. I don't think it looks short on you but I know what you mean and how you feel. I'm 5"8' and am self conscious about things possibly being too short. I think you look great:)

Oh, and no snow on the ground!

  9. I've learned that this colour doesn't work for me either the hard way too. Oatmeal = bad, creamy ivories = good.
Maybe a colourful necklace would help, to create a skin/dress separation?
