Chapped lips and Vaseline.

Seriously.

I dunno about you guys, but this time of the year my lips get sooooo dry.  It's gross - they get chapped and peel and it's gross and I know I shouldn't pick at it but I do. What's worse is that I have never found a lip balm that has actually helped. So I did what most people would do: googled "how to get rid of chapped lips".  There were tonnes of random ideas on there, but when I saw a few of people mention Vaseline, I figured why not? It's pretty cheap, gives a lot of product, and if it doesn't work I can find another use for it.

I got this for $2 I think at Walmart.
Don't look too closely at the nails. I free-handed them... They're messy.

Seriously guys, it's a miracle worker. Three days ago my lips were chapped and peeling. Today they're completely smooth and soft. For the first couple of days I was re-applying it all day long, but now, I only apply it when they start to feel a little dry. Soon I'm hoping I'll only have to use it at night :)

Do you guys have super chapped lips like me? What do you use?

  2. Rosebad Salve is a dream. It's like Vaseline... but smells like roses. You will die. They sell it at Sephora.

  3. I have the same problem! Vaseline grosses me out though, I use Burt's Bees. Expensive, but effective (and it smells good, haha!)

  4. I use Vaseline on my lips every single night! I think I have since I was probably 6 or 7.

Adored Austin posted a bunch of different uses for Vaseline just yesterday. I can't wait to try some of these!

  5. I've only used it for cold sores but I'll have to try it for just regular chapped lips too. I have something called 'Zambeezee' it's organic fair trade beeswax. And it's really wonderful. I try to keep one in the pocket of all my winter jackets.

  6. I put on chapstick a lot throughout the day so they don't really get chapped, but I've definitely noticed a difference between chapsticks. Some make my lips peel but not like they're chapped. It's weird. My hands always get really dry this time of year though so I've got to use some of this Vas!

  10. I have terribly dry skin, so I have chapped lips year round. There really is nothing better than Bag Balm(which is actually used on cow's udders but we'll leave it at that) for intensive care. Vaseline is like it's little brother. :)

  13. vaseline actually is way better than lip balms or chap sticks. Lip balms and chap sticks have an addictive quality which makes you need more. where as vaseline dosent.
