Awkward search-words.

Smart Set jacket (similar); Dynamite printed top; Forever 21 skinny cords (similar); Sirens boots

You know when you check your daily stats, sometimes you come across really interesting "keywords" that people searched and ended up on your blog? Well some are expected (i.e. enter kelly) and some are funny. Others are just plain... weird?

Here are some of the awkward ones people have used recently, and in doing so, came across my blog:

Leather glove cuties: Last winter I had a series about what to wear during Canadian winters.  In my "on your hands" post, I wrote about my favourite leather gloves and how they were a necessity. But this is just creepy, and I'm sure this person did not find what they were looking for.

Style men's wedge boot: well, I've never worn or styled a men's wedge boot. I don't even think I've ever seen a men's wedge boot. Good luck finding out how to style it :)

Very pale legs: Yes, whoever you are, you found someone with very pale legs. Now, why were you searching very pale legs? Either you need reassurance you're not the only one with ghostly thighs, or ... nah, don't want to think about it anymore.

Do you notice any weird search-words that lead people to your blog?

Trend challenge: Animal Print.

Smart Set top; Kenneth Cole (via Costco) cargo skinnies; Payless flats; Fossil watch

Today I'm linking up with Marion of Marionberry Style for her Trend of the Month challenge! This month is animal print, which is an awesome print on anyone.

I know everyone's seen leo print flats before, so it's really nothing new. In all honesty, I did have another outfit planned for this challenge but didn't get the chance to wear it. Sooo I had to stick with one of my outfits in the queue and this was the only one with a hint of animal print anything... Sorry for sucking, but at least I was able to participate in this challenge for the first time in a few months!

Want to be inspired by animal print? Stop by Marion's blog and check out how all of the others styled it!

Our Internet sucks.

Smart Set top; American Eagle tank and pants; Giant Tiger shoes

If this post has some messed up formatting, it's because I'm blogging from my phone because my internet is down. Again.

Yesterday I was mentioning that I had an eye-doctor appointment. Well, secretly I was hoping my prescription had changed so I could justify buying new glasses and spending $$$ on updating the frames and lenses. Instead, my eyes have not changed and it looks like I will not be dropping a few hundred dollars on new glasses anytime soon. Darn, I was really looking forward to updating these frames I've had for years now... Grrr.

So today we're having a "work picnic". I get the afternoon off work to go have lunch and spend time bonding with my colleagues. It should be a good time. We had to sign up for activities so my boss and I are doing yoga together. Not sure how I'll feel about it when I'm done. I'm not sure what I'm going to wear, either. It has to be appropriate for work but also yoga-appropriate. Does that even exist...?

Not a fall outfit.

American Eagle top & jeans; F21 shirt; Smart set necklace; Spring shoes

Ahh, TGIF everyone! With the colder weather that has recently hit, I feel like I'm pulling from my winter clothes pile again. This sweater is just another example of the wonderful "spring" style I've got going on. Too bad it better reflects the fall...

I also must admit I've been a really bad blogger. I try to follow up on comments and read your blogs every night, but I've been super busy the last two days and haven't had a chance. And who knows how today's going to go. It's hit-or-miss if the bus I'll be on has wifi... If it does, I'll can play catch-up for two hours. If not, well, I'll have to find some downtime this weekend. I miss you guys and I feel totally out of the loop!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

From boot to skinny.

Smart set top, necklace and jacket; Old Navy pants; Aldo shoes

When I bought these pants they were boot-cut. Then I washed and dried them. They shrunk. They became these weird flood-type length and I didn't know what to do. Then I remembered Merrick (from Merrick's Art) and her brilliant refashioning tutorials.  She did this one where she re-fashioned wide-leg trousers into skinny pants.

I followed all her steps and it actually was super simple! I was able to turn these into skinnies without a problem (except if you look closely at the bottom hem, the length doesn't match.. but who will be looking at the inside of my pants hem?!). I'm pretty impressed with myself. Not going to lie. It's given a brand-new life to these pants. If you've got anything you want to turn from wide to skinny, I would advise you to follow this tutorial. It rocks.

Side note: Can you tell the weather affects what I wear?

Chambray on Denim.

American Eagle jeans; Strawberry top; H&M flats; Smart set necklace

So I got myself some boyfriend jeans. I love the slouchy look of them when they're rolled up, but they flare out a little more than I had wanted. Perhaps I'll take them to a tailor... who am I kidding? No I won't. But they are one of the comfiest pairs of jeans I own. Way to go, American Eagle. You've done it again.

Chambray on denim. Another country-inspired outfit that makes me think of warmer weather and sunshine. I just love this time of year. Seriously. It could be my favourite. :)

Curls.

Smart Set sweater; American Eagle jeans; James & Jules (via Zellers) shoes

Boo, I'm sad that most of these pictures didn't turn out focused. I took them and then changed into PJs, and I'm definitely not putting real pants back on to re-take these photos. It's.just.not.happening.

It's kind of funny how many comments I got on my hair at work today. Seriously. I've been switching up between curls and straight forever and all of a sudden I get at least 5 co-workers commenting. "Is your hair naturally curly or straight?" "Who did your hair?" "Ohhh cute hair!" I mean, I love a compliment - don't get me wrong. It's just funny that I've done this before and not a single word. Maybe I was giving off good vibes today or something...Who knows!

Happy Hump Day! (aka Happy Wednesday...)

Mediocre.

Smart Set jacket; Dynamite blouse & scarf; American Eagle jeans

So I only realized AFTER I had taken the photos that my shoes aren't showing. Too bad because they were leopard print! Oh well, my scarf can take the animal-print-credit instead...

Anyone have any fabulous plans for the weekend? I'm most likely sitting at home, finishing The Hunger Games series, and sleeping. Maybe throw in a few movies just for fun.

Tights & socks.

F21 dress & socks; Costco blazer; Spring boots; Walmart tights; Smart Set necklace

I wore this outfit out one night to a friend's birthday party. The tights & knee-high socks added a little sex-appeal to the outfit without showing much skin. This striped dress was an awesome Forever 21 find - $13.50. I couldn't say no. I didn't really want to wear these boots, but to be honest, it was still too cold to forgo the boots that day...

Tomorrow's St. Patrick's day! Hope everyone has plans to enjoy themselves (be safe!). Me, I'm excited for this weekend and the temperatures reaching almost 20 degrees C. Hello t-shirt, here I come! Let's not jinx it now....

A little bird told me.

This is my first printed top, thanks Old Navy for pulling through for me! I missed the printed blouse trend that was so big last fall, but now I have one of my own! Hopefully this trend continues through spring, because I think these little prints are so freaking cute. Check out these little birdies!

Though the shirt is really static-y. Is there a trick or something to make it stop clinging to me? Does anyone know? I'm tired of touching things and getting shocked.

Also, can you tell Ottawa has recently gone through a thaw period? Seriously, it's the best. I can finally go outside in something OTHER than huge clunky boots! And I can see the road again! It's fabbity-fab. It really feels like winter is slowly retreating, maybe it'll surrender early this year?

Subtle Pattern Mixing.

How to mix patterns and keep it subtle:

Smart Set jacket & necklace; Joe Fresh top; Old Navy button-down; AE jeans; Spring boots

When I thought of this idea, I felt like a genius. I wasn't sure how to tackle Kayla's pattern mixing challenge because I didn't really feel like wearing any "in-your-face" patterns or mixes.  I feel like this subtle mix of gingham and stripes is simple, but still enough.

Can I just take a moment to brag about this jacket? It was $11. That is all.

Time to go check out all of the other pattern-mixers! Maybe you should too?!

The only flowers around.

The tiny floral print on this jacket makes me so happy! I just wish it was spring time...

F21 jacket & socks; Smart Set top; AE jeans; Old Navy belt & cowl; Payless boots

I bought this jacket and don't wear it nearly enough. I have to figure out some new ways to style it, that's for sure.

Oh! And I've been keeping up with the gym! Two days now! I'm starting off with an easy schedule - Mon, Wed, Fri for about 1 hour each day. So far I'm 2 for 2! I'm glad I got a membership because it's getting me out of the house and into the real world a few days a week. Being done school has put me in this weird lull and at least this is helping me DO something :)

Now, if only the sun would start shining and the temperature could warm up, I could spend some more time outside... Only 3 more months (I hope...)!
