INSPIRATION: NEUTRALS.

These days I find myself drawn to blacks and greys. Colour? Nahh. But that beautiful, heathered grey? Yes. I'm lusting for that. I don't know if it's the cool weather, or just a shift in my preferences, but I keep reaching for those dark neutrals. Here are some favourite outfits I found on Pinterest:

Do you find yourself reaching to darker colours this season?

Quote of the day.

Hey life, are you listening? Right now I'm a little frustrated with you.
Your constant changes and your ability to surprise are what I love and hate most about you.
And often, I don't understand why certain things happen the way they do. Reality never seems to make sense to me. What's up with that?

Sorry I am so backed up on blog reading. Things have been busy! I will catch up this weekend, I promise.

It's coming: Fall Fashion.

Fall is just around the corner, and I'm getting more and more excited about it by the day. Mostly because fall is my favourite season to shop fashion. Layering? Love it. Boots? Love 'em. Cozy lattes in hand? You betcha.

So you won't be surprised when I tell you these recent pins are what I hope to live in this fall:

What's your favourite season to dress for?

Some more man-style.

A few months ago I posted some of my favourite man-style looks.  Partly for the fashion, partly for the eye-candy.
Well, it's Sunday, and we all deserve a little bit of eye-candy.
Here you are ladies; some fashionable men to feast your eyes on.

Oh... Hi Ryan Gosling!

Sunday inspiration.

Some Sunday inspiration.

If you're looking for a fantastic pinner for inspiration, check out Sydney's pinterest. She's one of the best!

Trending retro.

Based on my stellar Pinterest trend-spotting techniques, I think that the warm weather will be bringing much more vintage inspired clothing. Retro sunglasses? High waisted bottoms? Corset tops? It all comes out with the sunshine.

High waisted bottoms:

These retro pants have a modern flare - colour. In this super-bright shade of red, they are so many trends in one. I love the button detailing too, so flattering.

Retro Accessories:

The bandana? These cat-eye sunglasses? They're the perfect way to accessorize your summer outfit. I love it all.

Corset tops with high waisted shorts:

Back to the high-waist, vintage Levi's are back in a big way. But not as pants. I'm thinking the high-waisted denim cutoff is going to be big again this year. Especially when paired with a midriff skimming corset top. Perfect way to get yourself ready for the summer. Festival outfit, anyone?

Retro Bikinis:

Prints like polkadots, floral, and stripes. Bikini tops with a corset structure or halter style. High waisted bottoms that nearly reach your belly-button. I'm not a huge fan of the high bikini bottom, tbh, but I did score myself this bikini top for this summer already!

What do you think? Are you a fan of the retro trends?

5 Spring Essentials.

Just my personal list of the 5 things that I really need this spring. Like, seriously need.

1. An amazing striped dress.

Stripes won't be leaving us just yet! They're sticking around for a little while longer. A big bold striped dress is the perfect way to welcome the sunshine and warmth back in your life!

I found a couple great ones from Banana Republic that are both awesome AND work appropriate: this and this.

2. Denim vest & studs.

A denim vest is spring's response to the fur vest of fall.  Good luck trying to get that faux fur to keep you cool (hint: 'aint gunna happen). The denim vest, however, makes an awesome addition to anyone's closet (just think of how great your denim jacket is and imagine it without arms)!

Plus this one is über awesome 'cause it's got studded detail. Here's another great studded one from Forever 21. Maybe I'll pick that one up.

3. Camo... everything

The whole military style has been around for a while, but I love the more literal feel it's taking on this spring. Camo is everywhere. She's wearing a camo jacket here, but camo pants are popping up like the not-yet-flowers-of-spring.

Don't believe me? Forever 21 military jacket, GAP camo pants, Dynamite camo jegging and this H&M leopard print camo coat. Yeah, I'll be adding more camo to my closet, that's for sure.

4. Wedge sneakers

Leave it to Sydney to show us all how to perfect the sneaker wedge. Honestly, I hated these before I saw them on her. Now I'm in love. Talk about incredible influence this lady has. I'm so in love that I am ACTIVELY searching Pinterest for more inspiration on wedge sneakers. Which means I might convince myself I haaaaaave to have them.  Plus my fav shoe store, Call It Spring, has these for $60.

5. Anything with polka dots.

Just like camo and stripes, polka dots are big creepers creeping up all over the place. One day it's on a shirt and next think you know, it's on ev-er-y-thing you buy.

I'm currently lusting over these polkadot pants, this (neon) polkadot bikini and this polka-dotted shirt-dress (though it is a bit on the short side....)

What tops your list of spring essentials?

Man-style.

Living in Ottawa doesn't expose me to much great man-style.
It makes me a little sad.
But when I see a well dressed man on the street, at work, or wherever, I notice.

Men, LADIES NOTICE.
Well, not all ladies.
Some ladies like their men looking like construction workers.
But I prefer mine to be well dressed. Groomed. Looking good.

If you share my like for good man-style, here are some treats that I found on Pinterest.

Oh hey you. Not sure I like the moustache, but I'm loving the earth tones, and that fabulous jacket you got goin' on is rocking my world.

Simple. Casual. Kind of perfect.

Yo dude, not sure what you're doing up in a tree. But you're really working those layers.
Is that plaid I see? This is a total man-yes in my books.

...Do you like your men stylish?

Knit sweaters.

Since the weather has taken a turn for the worse, I've been dreaming of knit sweaters.
Like these ones here.

Alas...

... I am without an outfit post this morning. Instead, I will leave you with a few of my favourite quotes. I have been able to personally identify with these three quotes in particular, and that's why they are some of my favs. Thank you, Pinterest, for giving me a place to document these.

Happy Friday everyone :)

Fall Must-Haves.

Hate me if you must, but I want to take a minute to talk about a few things that are making me think about fall. It's still so hot around here, but by working in clothing I'm already thinking about the fall season all day long.

As a result, I have found myself recently pinning outfits and products that will be perfect once the cooler temperatures decide to come around. These are my 5 Fall Must-Haves:

1. Printed Pants.

I finally bought myself some polka-dot skinnies, but I can't wait to wear them with some heavier pieces like blazers and chunky sweaters. I've also seen some great washed-out floral prints that I've been eyeing...

2. Denim Jacket.

An affordable denim jacket is new to my wish-list. I love this one from American Eagle, but I can't bring myself to spend $50 on a denim jacket...

3. Chunky Sweater.

Will these sweaters ever get old? Nope. Never. Too comfy and cozy.

4. Oversized Scarf.

Scarves aren't anything new, but as the temps get cooler I'll be looking for bigger scarves to keep myself warm.

5. Comfy mocassins.

Yeah so maybe moccasins are a little random, but for the last year I've been trying to find a pair that I like. I found some at Walmart but they just weren't right. Here's hoping I'll find some for fall!

What's on your fall wishlist? Do you have any pieces you can't wait to style as the cooler weather approaches?

Jackets in Spring.

Dynamite jacket and sheer button-up; Costco sweater (really old..); American Eagle jeans; Le Chateau heels

I'm really hoping that this was the last time I could pull off a jacket and so many layers this spring. For some reason a heat wave just hit us and we're experiencing June temperatures. It's lovely. And I really don't want to have to dig for a jacket again.

Aaaaaaaaand I forgot to write this post last night. If I don't write at night, I have nothing to say in the morning. My brain hasn't turned on yet. So I'm experiencing major blogger's-block. :\

Instead, I shall leave you with a pinterest pic I found the other day and I loved:
