STORIES.

Via Pinterest*

Some stories stay with us forever.
We learn this from a young age, whether it's something we read in a book.
Or a movie we watched and fell in love with.
Or, as we get older, it's a story we've experienced.
Something that's happened in our life.
Something we'll never forget.

Some stories you wish you could forget, but they just haunt you. After so many years, I wonder if it'll be forever.

QUOTE OF THE DAY.

Doesn't this quote basically sum up life?
We live day in and day out, doing basically the same thing.
But the world is constantly evolving; you are constantly growing.

Life can feel stagnant, but behind the scenes things are changing.
Slowly, perhaps... but they're changing.
And you're changing with them.

Pieces of advice.

Ok so this photo was taken a couple months ago, but I was watching Modern Family then too, so it counts.

So I was watching Modern Family yesterday and stumbled across the episode with the Phil's osophy book. And you know what? I thought it was completely brilliant.
If you aren't watching Modern Family, you probably should. It's hilarious.

Anyways, I took away a couple pieces of advice that I decided I'd share with you:

1. When life gives you lemonade, make lemons. Life will be all like "whaaaaaaat?!"
Isn't this great advice? Throw life off course, go down an unexpected road, do something different.

2. The most amazing things that can happen to a human being will happen to you, if you just lower your expectations.
Sad, but in many cases true. A bit depressing, so don't dwell on it.. But when you expect less, you're often pleasantly surprised.

Thanks Phil Dunphy for your inspiration. You are an intelligent man, my friend.
Now, time for me to go make some lemons from my lemonade. Now, how do I go about that exactly?

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post... I'm pretty excited about it!

Quote of the day.

Hey life, are you listening? Right now I'm a little frustrated with you.
Your constant changes and your ability to surprise are what I love and hate most about you.
And often, I don't understand why certain things happen the way they do. Reality never seems to make sense to me. What's up with that?

Sorry I am so backed up on blog reading. Things have been busy! I will catch up this weekend, I promise.

Hope.

Thanks again, TKG, for putting some of my thoughts into words. Again.

Fear of the unknown.

As I've mentioned, I'm moving out of my parent's place at the end of the month. I'm beyond excited to finally get back into the city again, but I can't help but feel a little nervous.

I've never lived fully on my own. I've lived with friends, my boyfriend at the time, and then moved back with my family. No matter what, there has always been someone else to spend time with. I've never truly been alone for an extended period of time, and I don't know how I'll feel about it. I'm not the biggest social butterfly, but I crave interacting with people.

I know this sounds silly for many of you, because I'm sure you have done this before, but for me it's a first. Everyone tells me that this is going to be an amazing experience, and I know it will be. I guess it's just fear of the unknown.

The best is yet to come :)

Quote of the day.

I think this is one of the biggest lessons to learn in your 20s, and probably even into your 30s. Heck, maybe for life. Once you reach adult-hood, everyone's path changes. Life goes by at different speeds, and there are new opportunities popping up everywhere for everyone. You may feel that your life is changing differently than everyone else's around you, and you start to feel alone.

But it's not a bad thing. Not at all. In fact, it's perfectly normal.

So smile for the opportunities you get, and be happy that you're living a life that is your own. You are your own person now - you make your own choices, you make your own life.

Quote of the day.

I came across this quote in a book that I was reading a couple of months ago.
I thought it was too awesome to keep hidden.

Quote of the day.

This is kind of how I feel right now.
Not sure about where I'm going, what I'm doing.
Anything is possible, but where to begin?

Time for some new adventures, I think. :)

Alas...

... I am without an outfit post this morning. Instead, I will leave you with a few of my favourite quotes. I have been able to personally identify with these three quotes in particular, and that's why they are some of my favs. Thank you, Pinterest, for giving me a place to document these.

Happy Friday everyone :)
