Flowers, leaves and a review.

Firmoo glasses

Not sure if you noticed yet, but I have another new pair of glasses. After writing about wanting to update mine forever, I came across Firmoo, an online glasses retailer. They provided me with a pair of glasses to review, and lemme tell ya, I'm in loooooove.

The frames are super comfortable, and my prescription came in perfectly. The transaction was stress-free and easy. They have a virtual try-on system, which means before buying the frames, I could upload a picture of myself to see how they looked. This took out a lot of the anxiety of not being sure if the frame shape was right for me.

But since this is a review, I need to share both the good and the bad. Don't get me wrong, the good definitely outweighs the bad, but there are a few things that I wasn't super thrilled with. Firstly, they don't offer prism lenses. I know a couple other online glasses retailers that don't as well, so it's not uncommon, but I am supposed to have prism lenses (because my eyes are cray-cray). So for people like me, it poses a challenge buying glasses from Firmoo. Also, the quality of the frames isn't great, but I can't really complain much because the ones I chose were literally $8.00. Can't really blame them for that...

All in all, I love my new glasses! For new customers, they've got a First Pair Free program, where you only pay the shipping. Not a bad deal! Even without this program, they still have such low prices that a backup pair of glasses won't break the bank.

*Glasses were provided c/o Firmoo in exchange for a product review. All opinions expressed are strictly my own.

Flower power.

Joe Fresh denim top; American Eagle floral skinnies; Forever 21 booties & necklace

I'm wearing pants with flowers on them. And not little flowers... big flowers. I don't even know why, but as soon as I laid eyes on these babies they had to be mine. When I got them for 50% off, the decision was made even easier.

The only downside is I can't wear them to work! This seriously limits how much wear I can get out of them but that's okay, as long as most of my wardrobe is work-appropriate I am allowed to have a couple pieces that are unique ;)

Do you have two separate wardrobes for work and life, or do you try to make your wardrobes work for both?

This one time I won a giveaway.

eShakti dress (giveaway win); Forever 21 wedges

So this post is LONG overdue. I won this dress from a giveaway over at Verbal Melange a couple of months back. When I could choose whatever I wanted on the eShakti website, I gravitated towards this dress for two reasons. 1) I actually like the floral print. It's got brighter colours and they pop against the muted background. 2) It is 100% cotton. This is totally necessary in the crazy heat we've been having... Also it has pockets. I guess that's three reasons.

When you buy from eShakti, you have the ability to customize certain parts of the dress. I didn't touch this one because I wasn't sure how it'd look. After I got it, I would have liked if it was a couple inches shorter, but that's a cheap alteration I can do myself.

I have a special treat for you today. eShakti is having a 40% off sale, and they are offering you guys an extra 10% off with the code KE25NEW! Hurry because it expires next Tuesday, July 31st! Find yourself a wonderful dress or peruse their other things like skirts and tops. Some of them are super duper cute.

Self-control.

Forever 21 blouse; American Eagle denim, shoes (via Payless); Fossil watch

So on the weekend I ended up at the mall with a friend. We weren't supposed to go to the mall- we were supposed to go to the museum to see a wicked Mayan exhibit. After trekking an hour in the rain, including a bus transfer, we arrived at the museum only to find out that they were closed. What next? Well, the mall should provide some good entertainment, we thought. Even though I'm on a shopping ban, I can control my urges...

... Well apparently not. And I blame all you guys. I went into Forever 21 to look for some necklaces like you alllllll suggested a couple posts back. I walked out with two necklaces, a hat, and this shirt. Yup, like I said, it's all your fault.

Don't worry though, I'm not mad at you guys. I got a bunch of compliments on this blouse today, so I've decided it was okay to break my shopping ban for this shirt. Soooo I guess I forgive you all... ;)

Side note: I may also have bought a pair of shoes.... Turns out it really was my fault after all. UGH apparently I can't control myself...

Trend of the month: Florals

F21 dress, belt, necklace; Chaps (men's) top via Costco; H&M flats

This outfit was a bad idea. It's still way too cold here for bare-legs. But it's the only floral that I had, and I can't bring myself to wear tights in April. I just can't.  If you haven't noticed yet, I'm doing a link-up with Marion for her Trend of the Month challenge at Marionberry. This month it's florals. And I own no more floral than this dress...It's just never been my thing I guess?

I really don't have much to talk about today. Writer's block I guess. So I'll just state the obvious - it's Wednesday, I'm happy that the week is half over, and I may or may not be going to Montreal this weekend (friend still has to get back to me on that one). Plus it looks like we'll be seeing sun again on Saturday. This week of rain is a killer.
